Vixon: a cognitive training system for athletes

The challenge
Vixon set out to bring to market a smart vest with RGB LED panels that, driven from an app, trains athletes' reaction speed and decision-making. They needed a hardware partner able to solve all the electronics —with demanding requirements: visibility under direct sunlight, coordination of dozens of players and solid battery life— and to do it entirely in Argentina.
The solution
- A three-device architecture: link station (gateway to the tablet), nodes on the vests (LED control) and a charging station.
- ESP32 microcontrollers with ESP-NOW and BLE: ≥100 m line-of-sight range and up to 50 nodes per station.
- LEDs visible under direct sunlight and ≥ 1 h autonomy at full intensity.
- Industrial design of the three enclosures and power electronics, across four product iterations up to v4.
The result
Vixon is finishing v4 —its first market-ready version— and preparing its first 50 units. The product has a granted US patent, is in certification and is 100% developed and manufactured in Argentina. By working with Mateware as its hardware partner, Vixon accessed electronics, firmware and industrial-design capabilities without building an in-house engineering team.
