The challenge

Biofarma rents reverse-osmosis systems that filter water for medical equipment, distributed across the country. Its challenge was to know the real-time status of those machines to organize preventive maintenance and optimize costly, geographically scattered service trips —preventing failures and unnecessary travel.

The solution

  • An ESP32-based IoT device that integrates into the reverse-osmosis systems.
  • Data sent over Wi-Fi or Ethernet, depending on the connectivity available at each site.
  • A monitoring platform installed on-premise on Biofarma's servers, giving them control over their own infrastructure and data.

The result

Biofarma now has 90 installed units that let it monitor its machines remotely across the country. With that visibility it organizes preventive maintenance more efficiently and optimizes service trips —especially critical when it comes to water for medical use.
